Kane Tanaka was a Japanese supercentenarian, who was the world’s oldest verified living person after the death of Chiyo Miyako, who was born on May 2, 1901, and died on July 22, 2018, at the age of 117.
Until her own death at the age of 119 years, 107 days, Tanaka is the oldest verified Japanese person and the second oldest verified person ever.
Tanaka was born on January 2, 1903, in Wajiro, and died in a hospital in Fukuoka, on 19 April 2022, at the age of 119, nine days after becoming the second oldest verified person ever. Her death was announced on April 25.
Tanaka has said that she would like to reach 120, but unfortunately, she passed away at the age of 119.
