American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer, Keith Martin, has passed away.

Keith Martin was found dead in his private residence in Quezon City, Philippines on March 25, 2022, at the age of 55. He was born on September 22, 1966, in Washington, D.C., United States.
Martin was best known for writing and singing romantic love songs. He began playing piano, bass guitar, and drums at age 10. When he was nineteen, he began writing music.
Martin was an influential figure among local artists during the 1980s. He grew up with Johnny Gill and Stacy Lattisaw, and played bass alongside bassist Oteil Burbridge and Kenny Lattimore.
He was part of the Masquerade group that included Sharif Walters, Art and Scott Powell, and D’Extra Wiley. Later, he joined the new 1990s jack R&B band II D Extreme.
Con Funk Shun founder and drummer Louis A. McCall, Sr. signed Martin as an artist manager at his Gaithersburg, MD company. He was also a music business consultant and songwriter. Linda Lou McCall was hired in 1990 by MC Hammer to set up his corporate operations in Oakland, California.
Linda became Vice President of Hammer’s artist management company, and her husband arranged Martin’s visit to California. He was then part of MC Hammer’s Please Hammer, Don’t Hurt Em and Too Legit To Quit world tours.
Martin joined the McCalls in Los Angeles when they moved to Los Angeles in 1990. He was able to work with Boyz II Men producers Shovani and Buster, Grammy Award-winning songwriters and producers Danny Sebello and Marti Sharron, Oji Pierce and Ian Prince, and The Time’s Jesse Johnson.
