Kendrick Lamar Duckworth is an American rapper, record producer, songwriter and actor who was born on the 17th of June 1987 in Compton, California.
Lamar began his musical career when he was a teenager with the stage name K.Dot. He is regarded as one of the most influential rappers of all time. Kendrick belongs to the hip hop group Black Hippy.
The rapper has sold over 70 million records in the United States alone. This hassled him to bag multiple awards including, 14 Grammies, six Billboard Music Awards, 11 MTV Video Music Awards and a Pulitzer Prize among many others.
Lamar revealed in an interview that his biggest musical influence is Tupac Shakur. He also stated that Notorious B.I.G, Jay-Z, Nas, and Eminem are his favorite rappers.
