Kristi Lynn Noem was born on 30 November 1971 in Watertown, South Dakota. She is an American farmer, rancher, and politician who has been serving as the 33rd governor of South Dakota since 2019.
Noem, who has Norwegian ancestry, was raised with her siblings on their family ranch in rural Hamlin County.
She was the South Dakota Snow Queen when she attended Hamlin High School. Kristi went to Northern State University after high school to acquire a degree.
Still, she had to take classes at Mount Marty College’s Watertown campus and online with South Dakota State University after her father’s death.
Noem won her seat in the South Dakota House of Representatives in 2006, representing the 6th district. She was reelected in 2008.
She is a member of the Republican Party and is a Protestant.

Booker Noem is the third child and only son of Kristi and Bryon.
He was born on May 21, 2002. He completed high school at Hamlin High school and enrolled in Missouri-based Evangel University.
