Kyle Chalmers was born on 25 June 1998 in Port Lincoln, South Australia, Australia. He is a competitive swimmer from Australia specializing in freestyle and butterfly events. He holds the world record for the 100-meter freestyle short course.

And for the short course 50-meter butterfly and freestyle events, he is the Australian and Oceanian record holder.

Chalmers whose nickname is The Big Tuna attended Immanuel College in South Australia.
He competed in his first senior competition at the 2014 Oceania Swimming Championships in Auckland, New Zealand where he won gold in the 50-meter butterfly.

Chalmers is coached by Peter ‘Bish’ Bishop and is a member of the Marion Swimming Club. He was adjudged the Junior Male Swimmer of the Year by SwimSwam Swammy Award in 2016.
