Liam Broady Parents: Simon Broady, Shirley Broady
Liam was born to his mother Shirley and father Simon Broady. The Lawn Tennis Association cut off his seventeen-year-old sister Naomi’s funding in 2007 due to her “unprofessional” social networking posts.
The decision infuriated their father Simon to the point where he pulled Liam, who was thirteen at the time, from the LTA program. Simon downsized from the family house to pay for their travel and instruction and moved into a small red brick terrace.
The LTA offered to reinstate their financing two weeks later, but Simon declined, so they continued to practice at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy on the outskirts of Paris.
Broady’s decision to accept assistance from the LTA in 2012 caused him to become estranged from his father, and the two did not communicate for a while.
