Linda Garrou was a Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly, representing the thirty-second Senate District from 1999 to 2012. Her district includes Forsyth County constituents.
Garrou, a Winston-Salem, North Carolina administrator, was Co-Chair of both the Senate Appropriations/Base Committee and the Pensions, Retirement and Aging Committee.
Garrou stated that she was proud of her investments in capital projects in Winston-Salem, and worked for budgets that increased teacher pay and expanded health insurance for working families at the time of her retirement announcement in 2012.

John Garrou was Linda’s husband, she met him while they were both attending the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
Garrou left behind Eleanor Rubin and Margaret Garrou, their two daughters. She also leaves four grandchildren.
Linda was born on January 17, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, and died on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at the age of 79, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem.
