Lionel Andres Messi was born on 24 June 1987 in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.
He is a professional football of Argentine nationality who currently plies his trade with the French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain; he is also the Argentine national team captain.
Messi is regarded by many connoisseurs of football as one of the greatest players of all time. He has a record of seven Ballon d’Or and six European Golden Boot awards.
He spent the great part of his professional career with Catalan giants Barcelona Football Club, where he won a total of 35 trophies, including ten Spanish League titles.
Lionel moved to Spain from Argentina at age 13. He made his professional debut at 17 years in October 2004. He is married with three children.
