Elizabeth Lynne Cheney was born on 28 July 1966 in Madison, Wisconsin. She is an American attorney and politician. She has been the U.S representative for Wyoming’s at-large congressional district since 2017.
She chaired the House Republican Conference, which is the third-highest position in the House Republican leadership, from 2019 to 2021.
While in Maclean High School, Cheney was a cheerleader. She went to Colorado College to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School in 1996.
She worked for the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) between 1989 and 1993 and with the State Department for five years before going to law school.
Cheney worked as an international law attorney with White & Case after graduating from law school.
Elizabeth is the eldest daughter of former U.S Vice President Dick Cheney and former Second Lady Lynne Cheney.
