He unsuccessfully ran for governor of California in the 2003 recall election and for lieutenant governor of California in the 2006 election.

Tom McClintock’s wife Lori died on December 15, 2021, at the age of 61 at her home in Sacramento after taking Chinese herbal weight loss treatment white mulberry leaf.

She suffered severe dehydration caused by gastroenteritis, according to her autopsy.

Lori had consumed white mulberry leaf not long before she died. The Chinese herb is used for weight loss and to manage diabetes, but it is not FDA-approved as a supplement.

It’s unknown whether Lori was vaccinated or not.
