Luis Enrique Martínez García, widely known as Luis Enrique was born on 8 May 1970 in Gijon, Spain.
He is a Spanish professional football manager and former player. He is currently in charge of the Spanish national men’s football team.
Enrique began his footballing career with his hometown team Sporting de Gijon where he played for three seasons and earned the nickname Lucho. He is one of a handful of footballers to have played for the Spanish football giants and rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Described by Pele as one of the top 125 greatest living footballers, Enrique who had 62 caps with the Spanish national team hung his boots on 10 August 2004 at the age of 34.
Enrique cut his managerial teeth with the Barcelona B side before going on to coach teams like AS Roma, Celta Vigo, and Barcelona FC.
Luis Enrique was named coach of the Spain national team on 9 July 2018.

Sira Martínez, Xana Martínez, and Pacho Martínez are the children of Luis Enrique.
Sira and Xana are his daughters while Pacho is his only son.
Sira was born on 1 April 2000 and is a title-winning equestrian.
She is dating Barcelona and Spanish footballer Ferran Torres.
Xana was born in 2010 but died of bone cancer at age 9 on 29 August 2019.
Pacho was born in December 1998 and is the oldest child of Luis Enrique.
He works as an auditor.
