Marion Sylvester Barber III was an American football running back who played in the National Football League for seven seasons.

He was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2005 NFL Draft after playing college football for the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

In 2007, he was selected to the Pro Bowl during his six-year tenure with the Cowboys. In 2011, Barber III played for the Chicago Bears.

Barber was found dead in his Frisco, Texas, apartment on June 1, 2022, nine days before his 39th birthday.

He was born on June 10, 1983, in Plymouth, Minnesota, United States.

The athlete’s body was discovered by police, who were checking the residence due to a “welfare concern.”
