Martha Ankomah has recounted how her mother batter her using a cane at the national theatre because she did not want her to become an actress.
The beautiful Ghanaian actress disclosed that growing up, she was performing a ‘concert’ in order to help develop her acting skills, however her mother was never keen for her to be an actress, so she didn’t get the encouragement she required, but her father always stood to support her.
She claims that she was in the national theatre when her mother walked in to beat her with a cane telling her that they had paid her school fees to attend classes to learn, and she’s performing a concert, but now the fight has paid off, and she’s assisting her.
Martha Ankomah then added that her mother did not intend to make her to become an actress at the time since they weren’t paid well as Nigerians were getting for their actors, but now her mother is aware that it’s not a good idea to stop your child from displaying his/her talent.
Many parents are just similar to Martha Ankomah’s mother, as they think going to school and getting a white-colour job is more beneficial for their kids rather than taking their time in displaying their talent and making effective utilization of it.
