Matthew Louis Gaetz II was born on 7 May 1982 in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
He is an American attorney and politician who serves as the United States representative for Florida’s 1st congressional district.
Gaetz had his high school education at Niceville High School and studied for a Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary science from Florida State University.
He earned his Juris Doctor from the William & Mary Law School and was subsequently admitted to the Florida Bar. He was suspended by the Florida bar for unpaid membership fees.
Gaetz after graduating from law school practiced with Keefe, Anchors & Gordon, a law firm based in Fort Walton Beach.
Gaetz was elected into the Florida House of Representatives in 2010.
