Max Scherzer Siblings: Meet Brother Alex Scherzer

Maxwell Martin Scherzer  is a Major League Baseball pitcher who currently plays for the New York Mets. He has featured for several teams in Major League Baseball including the Arizona Diamondbacks, Detroit Tigers, Washington Nationals, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

The right-handed starting pitcher is an eight-time MLB All-Star, three-time Cy Young Award winner, World Series champion with the Nationals in 2019. He is referred to as “Mad Max” after the fictional character of the same name because of his energy and competitiveness when playing.

Scherzer was chosen by the Arizona Diamondbacks as the 11th overall choice in the amateur draft in 2006. He debuted in the MLB in 2008 with the Diamondbacks. Scherzer was transferred to the Detroit Red Wings in December 2009.
