Michael Fred Phelps II was born on 30 June 1985 in Baltimore, Maryland. He is a former competitive swimmer from America. With a total of 28 medals, he is easily the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time.

Nicknamed “The Baltimore Bullet”, Phelps won twenty-three Olympic gold medals which is an all-time record for gold medals won by an Olympian.

Phelps, who is of English, German, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh descent attended Rodgers Forge Elementary, Dumbarton Middle School, and Towson High School, from which he graduated in 2003.

As a child, Michael was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). He began swimming at the age of seven with the prompting and encouragement of his mother and sisters.
