Mike Babcock Children: Michael Babcock III, Alexandra Babcock, Taylor Babcock

Canadian expert ice hockey head coach Mike Babcock is currently serving in that capacity for the National Hockey League’s Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL).

Babcock is the only coach to lead a team to six distinct national or international championships, including leading Canada to gold at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, the IIHF World Junior Championships in 1997, and the University of Lethbridge to the CIS University Cup in 1994.

Babcock began his “full-time volunteer basis for the next two seasons” with the Huskies on February 20, 2021. The volunteer component was a crucial distinction, as the Toronto Maple Leafs still pay the former NHL head coach after 17 seasons.

At the 1997 World Junior Championships, the 2004 IIHF World Hockey Championships, the 2010 Winter Olympics, and the 2014 Winter Olympics, he also led Team Canada to gold medals. Additionally, he led the University of Lethbridge to a 1994 CIS national championship.
