New Ghana coach, Milovan Rajevac will name his first Black Stars squad this week for next month’s 2022 World Cup qualifier double header against Zimbabwe.
The Serbian trainer was expected to work with the squad presented by Charles Kwablan Akonnor before his sacking.
However, the 67-year-old has asked for time to complete his monitoring before naming his squad this week.
Milovan Rajevac, who was coach of the senior national team between 2008 and 2010, is expected to name a changed squad from the ones used by C.K Akonnor.
The former Algeria coach was confirmed as replacement of the ex-Ghana captain last Friday and has been charged with the job of qualifying the Black Stars to the World Cup.
He has also been tasked to win the Africa Cup of Nations next year in Cameroon.
Ghana had a poor start to the World Cup qualifiers after a win and a defeat in the opening two games, leaving Ghana second on the table.
The West African giants host Zimbabwe in Ghana on October 9, 2021, before traveling to Harare for the second leg three days later.
