The 22-year-old is one of Ghana’s brightest talents in Europe and plays regularly in the very demanding Premier League, thus his consistent absence from the Black Stars doesn’t sit with Ghanaians.

“With Mohammed Salisu, you need check. The other day he said when he is ready, he will let us know,” Akonnor explained.

He received his maiden Black Stars call-up in 2019 but turned down the invitation over fitness concerns.
