Afia Badu, the lady who was shot in the Korle-Bu, area at James Town in Accra bullion van robbery, family have spoken about the sad incident.
Badu was shot dead by the robbers who attacked the bullion van at the Adedenkpo Timber Market on Monday, June 14, 2021, after the robbers chased her and shot her in a wooden structure nearby where she was selling her wares.
She was shot together with General Constable Emmanuel Osei, the police officer who was escorting the bullion van on daily collection rounds.
In a video sighted by Kingaziz.com, the mother of Badu and other family members have expressed shock at the unfortunate fate that has befallen her as they shed uncontrollable tears.
“I heard an armed robber had shot my daughter and I came to see for my self. I live at Omanjor.
My daughter…ah…so my daughter is dead?” the bereaved mother said while speaking to Citi TV as she indicated that she lives at Omanjor, a suburb of Accra, and had to rush to the crime scene after hearing the sad news.

Meanwhile, photos and details of the Police Officer who was shot by the armed robbers have popped up.
According to the Greater Accra Regional Police PRO, DSP Efia Tenge, the name of the deceased is General Constable Emmanuel Osei with Police service number G/C 58449, and he was a Member of the National SWAT unit.
The Greater Accra Regional Police PRO explained that Osei was guarding a Nissan van with Registration number GT 8592 which belongs to a company called Montran.
Efia Tenge has confirmed that the van driver identified as Wisdom survived the attack after the car was found parked at the centre of a road around the Adedenko Metal Market.
