Mubarak Wakaso Ruled Out Of Ghana Friendlies Against Morocco And Ivory Coast

Black Stars midfielder Mubarak Wakaso won’t be available for the international friendlies against Morocco and Ivory Coast respectively as he couldn’t make the trip due to COVID-19 complications.

The 30-year-old Ghanaian footballer who currently plays for Chinese club Shenzhen would be required to undergo mandatory 14-day quarantine upon his return to China from Ghana, hence the decision to leave him out of the squad for now.

Wakaso joins the likes of Thomas Partey, Tariqe Fosu, Richard Ofori and Frank Acheampong who have all been ruled out of the two matches due to different reasons.

The Black Stars will take on the Atlas Lions on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Prince Moulay-Abdellah Sports Complex, and will also be facing the Elephants on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Cape Coast stadium.
