Naomi Judd was an American singer and actress who was born on January 11, 1946, in Ashland, Kentucky, United States.
She and her daughter Wynonna formed the country music duo the Judds in the year 1983. They were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2021.
Together with the help of her daughter Wynonna Judd, Naomi formed the extremely successful duo of singers called the Judds.

They are the most well-known of country music’s mother-daughter pair, they had twenty of the top ten hits (including fifteen number ones) and were undefeated for eight straight seasons at the three major awards ceremonies for country music.
They were awarded five Grammy Awards and a vast assortment of other honors and awards. Naomi received the Country Song of the Year Grammy for her song “Love Can Build a Bridge”.

She revealed this in an interview with Diane Sawyer, which aired on Thursday on “Good Morning America.”
She said her family had agreed that she share the cause of death of her mother.
“She used a weapon. My mother used a firearm. So that’s the piece of information we are very uncomfortable sharing.”

The actress and political activist also revealed that she was the one who found her mother dead.
“It was a mixed day,” she recalled. “I visit with my mom and pop every day when I’m home in Tennessee, so I was at the house … and Mom said to me, ‘Will you stay with me?’ And I said, ‘Of course I will.’
“I went upstairs to let her know that [her] friend was there, and I discovered her. I have both grief and trauma from discovery.”
The youngest Judd and the half-sister of country music singer Wynonna Judd explained that her family put her in charge of sharing details about her late mother’s suicide at age 76 in order to shine a light on mental health.
When we’re talking about mental illness, it’s very important to be clear and to make the distinction between the loved one and the disease,” she said.
“My mother knew that she was seen, and she was heard in her anguish, and she was walked home,” Judd added.
