Naomi Osaka is a Japanese professional tennis player who was born on 16 October 1997 in Chūō-Ku, Osaka, Japan.
Osaka has the enviable record of being the first Asian to be ranked as world number one by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

She has won WTA Tour titles and has won successive Grand Slams; a feat achieved by Serena Williams in 2015.
Osaka who turned professional in 2013 was introduced to the sport of tennis by her father, who sought to model himself on Richard Williams, the father of the legendary Williams sister.
