‘New Year’ Accident Claims Four Lives In Takoradi

The lives of four innocent Ghanaians could not be preserved after their vehicle collided with another in the early hours of Sunday, January 1, 2023, in Takoradi.

The ghastly accident which claimed the lives of the four occurred when a Republic of Liberia registered Mercedes Benz Sprinter van with registration number, LB-B11992 collided with the bus of Assemblies Of God with registration number GT 4481-22.

The bus had the congregants of the Assemblies of God church who were heading towards Asankragwa from Accra.

According to reports from 3News.com, the driver of the van was seen by eyewitnesses carelessly overtaking other motorists at very high speeds before the head-on collision occurred at the New Apostolic Junction in Kojokrom.

'New Year' Accident Claims Four Lives In Takoradi

“The yellow bus had loaded church members who went for a camp meeting at Accra. Whilst returning to Asankragwa, it collided with the sprinter vehicle”, Kofi Amoah, an eyewitness revealed.

At the time of the report, four persons (males) who were onboard the Liberian sprinter van were confirmed dead with others in critical condition. Miraculously, the passengers on the bus sustained only minor injuries and are expected to be discharged very soon.
