American right fielder Nicholas Alexander Castellanos was born on March 4, 1992. He currently plays in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies. He has previously featured for the Cincinnati Reds, Chicago Cubs, and Detroit Tigers.
When the Detroit Tigers selected Castellanos out of high school in 2010, he quickly rose to the top of baseball’s prospect list. Castellanos was honored as the competition’s most valuable player in the 2012 All-Star Futures Game.
In September 2013, he made his professional debut in the MLB for the Tigers. Castellanos was traded to Chicago Cubs in 2019. Nick inked a four-year deal with the Cincinnati Reds before the 2020 campaign.
He was selected to participate in the 2021 All-Star Game and received the Silver Slugger Award. He also made the All-MLB second team.
