Nirmala Mishra Illness: What Disease Did Nirmala Mishra Have?

Indian singer of predominantly Odia film songs and Bengali Modern and film songs Nirmala Mishra has passed away.

She was born on 21 October 1938, in Majilpur, Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India.

Music Aficionados revered most of her renderings from the 1960s and 1970s. She was one of the most respected and admired playback singers in both Odia and Bengali films.

The late singer was a recipient of the Sangeet Sudhakar Balakrushna Das Award which she was honoured for her lifetime contribution to Odia music.

Her song ‘Nida bhara raati madhu jhara janha’ from the 1975 Odia movie ‘Anutapa’ composed by J. Adeni still remains one of the most admired Odia songs of all time.

Mishra passed away at her residence in the Chetla area in the early hours of Sunday, July 30, 2022, at the age of 81, after suffering a massive heart attack, a senior doctor said.

She had been battling age-related ailments for a long time before the sudden heart attack.
