Nollywood ‘Bad Boy’ Jim Iyke Discloses Why He Left The Movie Scene, Bounces Back To Set

One of the most popular actors in the movie industry in Nigeria is Jim Iyke. Jim Iyke has finally bounced back into the movie scene after many years.

Jim Iyke has been off the movie scene for many years and has been channeling his energy to something profitable and his other businesses. In an interview with Mary Nnah of All Africa during a private screening, he disclosed why he was away from the screens for a while and the inspiration behind his new movie which will address all the online trolls.

Jim Iyke disclosed that he decided to stay off the screens for some time due to some circumstances. He also disclosed there was a personality show he was shooting some time back ended up delving into his personal life on a daily basis. He disclosed that he realized he was not getting time for his family, especially his son, and he thought it was unfair to expose his son to that lifestyle.

I just felt at some point in my life that as you get older, different opinions and stands in life take place. I felt at some point in my life that I needed to take a backstage.

You find out that you have lived a certain life in thein pursuit of a lifelong career that you would not sacrifice for anything, basically.

Of course, there was also the narrative of the reality TV Show I was shooting then that obviously delved into my personal life on a day-to-day basis. I had my son at that time, and I felt it was grossly unfair to him to expose him to that lifestyle. I also understood that the demands of the job will not allow me to be the kind of father I have always dreamt to be, so I took two years off the Nollywood scene.
