Nigerian actresses, Kate Henshaw and Omoni Oboli have reported receiving threats as they prepare to vote in the upcoming elections.
Omoni Oboli has alleged that her accreditation unit which holds some 6,000 other voters has been moved by INEC to a new location and this makes them feel unsafe.
Kate Henshaw, on the other hand, has said that she will not bow to intimidation to vote for a candidate who is not her preferred choice.
Explaining the situation on her verified Twitter account through a video she posted, Henshaw stressed her will to exercise her franchise and do so for whomever she prefers in spite of intimidation.
She also cautioned those who are threatening her to take note of their actions calling on them to be minded that they are public servants.
Her video was captioned, “No one, I repeat no one can threaten me!!! I have every right to vote for whomever I want. No amount of abuse & vitriol will stop me from carrying out my civic duty!!”
Kate Henshaw was emphatic that she cannot be intimidated and that she has every right to carry out her civic responsibility and that no amount of abuse or vitriol will move her.
