William Friend, Bevin Prince’s husband has passed away at the age of 33 after being struck by lightning while out on a boat.
According to sources from WECT6 News, Friend, who has been married to The One Tree Hill actor, 39, since 2016, was discovered on a boat after being struck by lightning in a storm close to Masonboro Island in Wilmington, North Carolina.
After marine units from the Wilmington Police Department and New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office responded to a cry for assistance from witnesses, CPR was given for 20 minutes but it was unsuccessful in saving the businessman’s life.
There are only an average of 27 lightning-related deaths in the US each year, according to NWS Storm Data, making them one of the rarest types of fatalities.
