Ons Jabeur was born on 28 August 1994 in Ksar Hellal, Monastir Governorate, Tunisia.
She is a Tunisian professional tennis player who on 27 June 2022 was ranked as high as world number 2 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
Jabeur has the enviable record of being the highest-ranked ever African and Arab tennis player in the history of both the ATP and WTA. She is also the current Tunisian number 1 tennis player.
She has won 11 singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Women’s Circuit and three singles titles on the WTA Tour.
Jabeur was introduced to the sport of tennis at age three by her mother. She won the 2011 French Open to become the first Arab to win a junior major since 1964.
She turned professional in 2010 and is coached by Issam Jellali.
