Osei Kwame Despite is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and a philanthropist with a foundation in music creation and knowledge of the broadcasting sector. He was born on February 2, 1962, in the Ghanaian town of Agona Wiamoase, in the Ashanti region.
Career
The well-to-do businessman didn’t get it all easy, with his beginnings being difficult, but he was able to overcome to become a well-loved and well-known entrepreneur in the nation.
He started his business as a seller in Ghana’s Dunkwa-Offinso Central Region, selling music cassettes, feeding bottles, padlocks, and many other items. After years of trying to survive in rural areas, he and his colleagues moved to Lagos, Nigeria.
In the year 1983, he returned to Ghana, along with the other Ghanaians who had left Nigeria because of the country’s political instability. In his first journey to Ghana for business, he carried only one chainsaw, that was destroyed by a tree that fell. He later moved to selling cassette tapes, before expanding his line of business.
