PFAG Lauds Black Meteors For Securing U-23 AFCON Qualification

The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has sent congratulatory messages to the Black Meteors for qualifying for this year’s U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The Black Meteors earned a spot at the U-23 2023 AFCON after a 2-1 aggregate win over Algeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Tuesday afternoon, the tournament is set to be held in Morocco.

The PFAG stated, “Congratulations, Black Meteors.” in commendation of the team’s performance on its official Twitter handle.
The player’s body posted the message shortly after the team had secured qualification to the tournament in Morocco after defeating Algeria by a lone goal.

The Black Meteors were dominant in the entire game and were also adventurous going forward in terms of attacking play. The team created a lot of scoring opportunities but only made one count in the 12th minute of the game.

Forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku scored the decisive goal of the day, meeting a weighted ball by Ernest Nuamah.
Issahaku scored both goals for the Black Meteors during the doubleheader with Algeria.
