Oldham-born Phillip Schofield was raised in Cornwall together with his only sibling and brother Tim Schofield by their parents, Brian and Pat Schofield.
Schofield attended Trenance Infant School and then moved to Newquay Tretherras School.
By age 15, young Schofiel was already working in the media at Hospital Radio Plymouth.
At 19, he was hosting Shazam! a youth music program on New Zealand television.
The current co-presenter of This Morning on ITV has been married to Stephanie Lowe for the past 29 years.
