The voice behind Ren in the fan-favorite film, Pokémon has been confirmed dead after he lost a battle with colon cancer.
His agent, A. Jinnie McManus confirmed his death to PennyLive, a local news outlet in the state of Pennsylvania where the actor comes from. He said the actor had lived his dream as a Japanese animation and video game fan.
“Billy lived his dream as a fan of Japanese animation and video games who grew up to act in beloved roles that will now stand forever as his legacy. At conventions, he was a popular guest who cherished meeting his fans. After all, he was once one of them. Even during the worst of his illness, he remained upbeat and determined. The world is darker without him and I will miss my friend terribly,” McManus said.
Billy Kametz had earlier announced to his fans that he was battling a stage 4 colon cancer which had spread to his liver, lungs and spine.
