President Akufo-Addo Opens Up On Level Of Admiration For Late Christian Atsu

H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, The President of the Republic of Ghana has revealed that he was an ardent fan of the late Black Stars winger Christian Atsu.

The President disclosed that he spent a lot of time admiring the former Chelsea and Newcastle United man when he watched him play.

He said that there are times when it is not pleasant to be in this chair, and today is one of them.

President Akufo-Addo went on to say that the young man we are all mourning is an exceptional athlete, a gift to our nation and those of us who are football fanatics and he counts himself as one who spent a lot of time admiring his exploits on the field.

The President made this revelation when he hosted the family of Christian Atsu at the Jubilee House on Monday, February 28.

He assured the family of Christian Atsu that government will be on hand to provide every needed support.

Christian Atsu died in the deadly magnitude 7.8 earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria in the early part of March.
