Qinwen Zheng, born on October 8, 2002, is a Chinese professional tennis player. At an early age, before turning three, she spent considerable time at her maternal grandmother’s residence in Chengdu, Sichuan, her mother’s hometown.
At the age of eight, Zheng left Shiyan to pursue tennis training in Wuhan, where she drew inspiration from Li Na’s victory at the 2011 French Open. Later, she trained under Li’s former coach, Carlos Rodriguez, in Beijing.
As of January 8, 2024, Zheng achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 13 by the WTA. Her accomplishments include winning two WTA, one WTA Challenger, and eight ITF singles titles.
In 2022, she was honored as the WTA Newcomer of the Year. Notably, Zheng’s best performances in singles at Grand Slam events include reaching the quarterfinals at both the 2023 US Open and the 2024 Australian Open.
