R. Kelly Sues Brooklyn Prison, Says He Is Not Suicidal

R. Kelly, who claims he has no intention of harming himself, alleges he is being punished by being kept on suicide watch at a Brooklyn prison facility and as a result he is suing MDC Brooklyn.

The disgraced musician has just filed a lawsuit against MDC Brooklyn, alleging that due to his fame, he is being subjected to “cruel and unusual punishment” while being kept under strict suicide watch.

The singer argued that his 8th Amendment rights are being infringed since “he is not suicidal” and clearly assured MDC officials that he was not suicidal and had no intentions of killing himself or others.

Kelly claims he was put in a single cell without bed rails, showers, toilet paper, or the ability to shave. He was also reportedly forced to consume meals with his hands and cut off from family members. Kelly also finds it odd that prisoners under suicide watch don’t even get psychological attention.

According to the Bureau of Prisons, “The BOP is committed to ensuring the safety and security of all inmates in our population, our staff, and the public. Humane treatment of the men and women in our custody is a top priority,” TMZ reported.
