Rad Wardell was born on 15 June 1985 in Dunfermline, Scotland.
He was a Scottish competitive mountain bike rider and cross country racer.

Wardell although had learned to ride a bicycle at an early age, he took up the sport of mountain biking at the age of 15.
He holds the record for the Fastest Known Time for mountain biking the iconic West Highland Way in 2020.

He won the junior and U23 national championships about two decades ago.
Wardell represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games and owned a coaching business called Wardell Cycle Coaching.

He is described by fellow riders as a cheerful and humble rider.
Wardell who was resident in Glasgow, Scotland died just a few days after he won the Scottish national cross country championship.
