An Award-winning American animator, art director, storyboard artist, writer, film director, and production designer at Pixar Animation Studios, Ralph Eggleston, has passed away.
Born on October 18, 1965, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States, Eggleston graduated from the California Institute of the Arts before beginning his career as an animator in 1986.

He passed away on August 28, 2022, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
According to a report by Variety, Eggleston gave up the fight after a protracted struggle with pancreatic cancer.
On Twitter, Jorge R. Gutierrez, the director of The Book of Life, and Pixar both posted heartfelt tributes to Eggleston.
“In memory of Ralph Eggleston—animator, director, art director, storyboard artist, writer, production designer, and our dear friend. Pixar and the world will be forever grateful,” Pixar tweeted with the image of the veteran.
“Adios Maestro Ralph Eggleston. A true titan of our art form. He reached out to me after Book of Life and I will forever cherish our conversations. Before many knew he was sick he was trying to donate his spectacular art book collection to a Mexican animation school. That’s Ralph,” Jorge R. Gutierrez added.
