Ransford-Yeboah Konigsdorffer who plies his trade for Hamburger SV as an attacker has revealed that he does not mind playing for Ghana’s U-23 national team, the Black Meteors, at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations(AFCON) in June.
Since switching nationality from Germany to Ghana in 2022 ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2022, the 21-year-old has not been able to get much playing time with the Black Stars.
Ghana’s Olympic football team qualified for the 2023 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco by recording a 2-1 aggregate victory over north African rivals, Algeria.
Ibrahim Tanko, head coach of the Black Meteors had revealed that his support staff and he are intent on calling more foreign-based players to the team.
Konigsdorffer who played for Germany’s youth team told Ghanaweb in an interview that he is open to representing Ghana at the AFCON when called upon.
He said if they call him, though he does not when the tournament is, we never know.
He made his debut for the Black Stars in the 3-0 defeat to Brazil last year.
