Raye Parents: Meet Her Mother and Father
Raye, born on October 24, 1997, in Tooting, London, hails from a diverse background. Her mother, who is of Ghanaian-Swiss descent, works in mental health, while her father, Paul Keen, who is her manager originally from Yorkshire, is English. Interestingly, Raye’s middle name, “Agatha,” pays homage to her grandmother.
@raye Happy Mother’s Day from my African Ma and Grandma !!! 😂❤️😂
During her childhood, Raye’s musical journey began in a church where her father served as the musical director and her mother was a choir member. Growing up, she immersed herself in singing gospel songs.
Raye’s educational path led her to Coulsdon Church of England Primary School and Woodcote High School in Croydon. At the age of 14, she enrolled at the prestigious BRIT School. However, she eventually left after two years, feeling constrained despite the valuable knowledge she gained. During her teenage years, she devoted herself to honing her songwriting skills through professional studio sessions on weekends.
Notably, Raye’s younger sister, Abby Lynn Keen, also pursued a career in music, adopting the stage name Absolutely.
