Tennis player Rebecca Catherine Marino was born in Canada on December 16, 1990. She rose at number 38 in the WTA singles rankings on July 11, 2011. In 2010 and 2011, Marino received Tennis Canada’s Female Player of the Year award twice.
Marino made the decision to take an indefinite break from tennis in late February 2013. She participated in the rowing team and studied English literature at the University of British Columbia during her vacation. She also had a Club Pro 1 coaching certification at the UBC Tennis Center.
Marino declared her intention to return to the professional circuit in October 2017, however, she was forced to wait because of ITF administrative rules.
