According to KSM, even though his opinion might not sit well with a lot of people, it was a total disgrace to a democratic country like Ghana to name its International Airport after a coup leader, i.e. Lieutenant-General Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka.

“At the risk of angering many, my wish is to see the name of Kotoka removed from the airport. It’s a disgrace to our history. Happy New Year,” he tweeted.

Lieutenant-General Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka played a key role in the first coup in the country. Together with Major Akwasi Amankwa Afrifa and some other military figures, Lieutenant-General Emmanuel Kwasi Kotoka overthrew the first republic government of Ghana.
