Black Stars goalkeeper Lawrence Ati-Zigi has revealed that the Black Stars’ 1-1 draw in Luanda against Angola in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying doubleheader return leg was tough.
Ati-Zigi played an important role in Ghana’s comeback draw against Angola in Luanda at the 11 November Stadium on Monday 27 March.
The home side shot into the lead through a Lucas Joao penalty kick in the 51st minute after captain on the day, Daniel Amartey, gave away a cheap spot kick.
The Black Stars drew level after Chris Hughton had brought on Joseph Paintsil and Osman Bukari who combined brilliantly in the 72nd minute of the match to equalize.
The St. Gallen goalkeeper took to his official Instagram page to express his thoughts on the game. He wrote “Difficult game but we fought so hard to get a point …We keep going.”
Lawrence Ati-Zigi put in a splendid performance in both legs of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Palancas Negras of Angola.
