Richard Hammond was born in Solihull, Warwickshire, England.
The 58-year-old is a journalist, television presenter, and writer.
Hammond attended Solihull School and Ripon Grammar School for his primary and secondary education.
He then went to the Harrogate College of Art and Technology.
After he completed college, Richard landed a job with BBC Radio and went on to work in several of their radio stations.
Some of the television Hammond has been on are, Richard Hammond’s Engineering Connections on National Geographic Channel, Richard Hammond’s Invisible Worlds, and Richard Hammond’s Crash Course.
Hammond is however most known for co-hosting Top Gear on BBC Two and now The Grand Tour on Amazon Prime.
