Robert Krakoff was the co-founder of technology company Razer and pioneer of the gaming mouse.
The engineer and designer worked for a company named Karna in 1999. The company created the “opto-mechanical encoding wheel that could track a mouse’s movements at 2000 dpi, far higher resolution than other mice at the time.”
This innovation went on to be the very first ever gaming mouse, dubbed”the Razer Boomslang.
Karna went under as a company in 2001. However, instead of sinking with it, Krakoff teamed up with a marketing company known as Fitch that helped him establish Razer in 2005, along with its chief executive officer, Min-Lian T. Tan.
Fitch created the name, logo, packaging, website, and also contributed to the overall design of Razer Boomslang.
Krakoff went on to become the brand’s public face Razer by adding the tips and suggestions of RazerGuy for the design of many products. He was famous for providing jobs to his most passionate supporters.
