The American professional golfer, Samuel Holland Burns was born on 23 July 1996 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Burns played preparatory golf for Calvary Baptist Academy where he was a three-time individual state champion.
At Louisiana State University, he played collegiate golf and won four tournaments.
