Samuel Takyi is a 20-year-old Ghanaian professional boxer who became the second Ghanaian to win in a boxing match at the 2020 Olympic Games currently being held in Tokyo, Japan.

Samuel Takyi qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics through his performance at the 2020 African Olympic Qualification Tournament in Dakar, Senegal.

In his first professional bout at the 2020 Olympic Games, he defeated Ecuardo’s Jean Carlos Caicedo by a unanimous decision to advance to the last 8 of the boxing event at the Tokyo Olympics.

The 20-year-old Takyi dominated his contest and took all five judges’ scorecards in the men’s 52-57kg featherweight fight.
