Sarah Louise Palin, born on 11 1964 in Sandpoint, Idaho, is an American politician, author, commentator, and reality television personality. She served as the ninth governor of Alaska from 2006 until she resigned in 2009.
Palin attended Wasilla High School where she played basketball and run cross-country races, and was the leader of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Palin is a former beauty queen, having won Miss Wasilla in 1984 and placing third in the Miss Alaska pageant. She attended the University of Idaho where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in communications.
Palin who has English, Irish, and German ancestry worked as a sportscaster after graduating college with KTUU-TV.
She entered politics in 1992 when she was elected to the Wasilla City Council.
She is a Republican.
Palin was the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee alongside U.S. Senator John McCain.
