LePreston Porter, better known by his stage name Snootie Wild, was an American rapper and singer. The most well-known of his songs was the first single he released, “Yayo”, whose popularity helped to launch his career. The track topped the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
In October 2013, it was revealed that another rapper from Memphis, Yo Gotti, had signed Wild to his Collective Music Group (CMG) imprint. Then, in September 2014, Wild dropped his debut extended version of the song, Go Mode.
“Made Me” was the EP’s 2nd single, and it peaked at number 93 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and became the top-charting single of his career.
Porter was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 23, 1985. He was raised listening to music from artists such as Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat, and Yo Gotti. He was in prison between the ages of 21 until 25.
Snootie Wild was shot in the neck and killed at age 36 in Houston on Friday when an argument with another driver ensued after he accidentally backed his car into a ditch.
